Here on our information and links page you can visit the websites of all the national kidney organisations and on a local note and may be of particular interest to Glan Clwyd patients you can link through to the Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust website

Betsi Cadwaladr Link
As from the 1st October 2009 the Glan Clwyd Renal Unit came under the Betsi Cadwaladr Local Health Board (formally North Wales NHS Trust) which is the largest Health organisation in Wales. The Board supplies medical facilities across North wales, including Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire,Flintshire,Wrexham as well as parts of Mid-Wales.

On the 1st July 2008 Conwy and Denbighshire and North East Wales NHS Trusts merged to form the new North Wales NHS Trust.

All Wales Renal Network
The All-Wales Renal Network will plan and develop renal services on a Wales-wide basis, helping to improve access and care for patients.

Dr O'Donoghue has been a consultant renal physician at Salford Royal Hospitals Foundation Trust since 1992. He has been President of the British Renal Society and Treasurer of the Renal Association.
Dr O'Donoghue was also Co-Chair of the Renal Advisory Group for the implementation of the National Service Framework for Renal Services 2004.

Renal Association Logo
The Renal Association is the professional body for United Kingdom nephrologists (renal physicians, or kidney doctors) and renal scientists in the UK. It is active in the planning and development of renal services and nephrology in Britain. It is also involved in the promotion and dissemination of research and education relating to the specialty. The Association was founded in 1950, when its activities were restricted to holding scientific meetings.
