Farewell and Good Luck to Dr.Subash

Our fond farewell page is dedicated to the members of the Glan Clwyd Renal Team who have either retired or moved on to new positions either here in the UK or overseas.
The staff and patients who either continue to work at the unit or receive their treatment at Glan Clwyd would like to thank everyone featured below for their part in making Glan Clwyd Renal Unit the excellent facility it is today.

Thank you to each and everyone of you for your time at Glan Clwyd.

Dr. Subash Somalanka

On the afternoon of the 28th October 2009 a farewell party was held in the seminar room at the Renal and Diabetes Centre at Glan Clwyd Hospital to say a fond farewell to a hugely popular member of the Glan Clwyd renal team Associate Specialist Dr. Subash Somalanka, whose career is now taking him to a post in London.

A buffet and cake were enjoyed by many of Dr. Somalanka's colleagues with whom he had worked during his six years at Glan Clwyd along with a number patients who were able to attend and say their farewell's.

A number of gifts were presented by colleagues and a piece of inscribed glassware was presented by Christine Evans on behalf of all Dr. Somalanka's renal patients.

Everyone in all departments of Glan Clwyd Renal Unit along with his patients wish Dr. Somalanka the very best of good fortune in his future career and we are all certain he knows that there will always be a welcome for him here at Glan Clwyd Renal Unit.

Lindsey's Fond Farewell

Dietician Lindsey Williams

Thursday 28th May 2009 saw colleagues of dietician Lindsey Williams gather in the seminar room at the Renal and Diabetes Centre at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

Lindsey a dietician who has worked and cared for renal patients since 1974 received retirement gifts from her colleagues in the dietetics and renal departments as well as a gift presented on behalf of all the patients at Glan Clwyd Renal Unit.

All the staff and patients who have both worked with and been cared for by Lindsey wish her all the very best for an enjoyable retirement.

Dr Baikunje's Farewell
Dr Baikunje

On Friday 1st May 2009 it was with a little sadness, but an enormous amount of thanks and best wishes for the future that colleagues and invited guests gathered in the seminar room at the Renal and Diabetes Centre to say farewell to Consultant Dr. Shashidhar Baikunje.

Dr. Baikunje has been with us at Glan Clwyd Renal Unit for three years and is now returning home to his family and to set up a renal project in his home town.

Staff and patients both made gift presentations to Dr. Baikunje which we hope will give him fond memories of his time at Glan Clwyd.

On behalf of everyone at Glan Clwyd Renal Unit Consultant Nephrologist Dr. Mick Kumwenda wished Dr. Baikunje all the very best for the future and thanked him for the work and support he had given to so many people in his time with us.

Albe Retires
Renal & Diabetes Centre Porter Albert (Albi) Grundy

 

On New Year's Eve 2008 Albert (Albe) Grundy the Renal and Diabetes Centre porter had a farewell retirement party held in the Centre at Glan Clwyd NHS Trust Hospital which was attended by staff and patients from all departments within the Centre.

Albe has been the Renal and Diabetes Centre porter for four years and is going to be missed in and around the Centre by his colleagues, patients and their carer's all of who wish him all the very best for an enjoyable retirement.

A Fond Farewell For Audrey
Audrey Roberts

On Friday 27th June 2008 patients and staff of Glan Clwyd Renal Unit gathered to say a fond farewell to Health Support Worker Audrey Roberts. Audrey has worked and cared for patients at the Renal Unit for the last 23 years joining the Renal Unit team in 1985.

Everyone at Glan Clwyd Renal Unit wishes Audrey a very happy retirement and also say a big thank you for all the help and care you have given to both your patients and colleagues.

Farewell and Thank You
AFD Presentation

On Monday 23rd April 2007 Staff and Patients 0f the Renal Unit gathered for a farewell presentation to Dr. Alistair Douglas FRCP Consultant Nephrologist and Clinical Director.

A buffet lunch was served and a joint presentation from Dr.Douglas' renal team colleagues and patients was made. The farewell gifts included a limited edition print and a glass plaque inscribed with a farewell message.

Dr. Douglas is returning to Scotland and everyone at Glan Clwyd Renal Unit wishes him good luck for the future and thank him for his contribution in the maintaining and development of the excellent renal services offered at Glan Clwyd NHS Trust Hospital.
